On this day 1948 Israel was declared a nation and 70 years on, history is made again as America officially opened their new embassy in Jerusalem.   The prophetic significance of this event is huge and will reverberate around the world.  Already we see the backlash in Gaza whiich will no doubt get worse in the coming days.  For those of us who await the Lord's return we are one step closer to our redemtion.  The Bible instructs us in Psalms 122:v6 to pray for the peace of Jerusalem which we should do.  However, true peace will only come when Jesus returns to set up His kingdom on earth.

The date marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the British Mandate over what was then called Palestine and the declaration of the new-old State of Israel […] King Cyrus of Persia, followed by King Darius, said similar things […] “G-d has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has commanded me to build him a Temple in Jerusalem… Whoever is among you of His people…may he go to Jerusalem and build G-d’s Temple…” Some years later, King Achashverosh, of Purim story fame, stopped the Temple construction. At ten minutes past midnight Jerusalem time Iran carried out a rocket attack on military positions in Israel. Israel has responded with a massive air assault on Iranian and Syrian military targets in Syria.  Report below from Amir in Jerusalem.
