Why do we need saved?
Put very simply, sin entered the world through Adam (when he fell to temptation and evil schemes of Satan) and we are all descended from Adam, so therefore we are all under the same curse of sin. We read in Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.
Mankind is naturally rebellious towards God and wants to do his own thing and control his own destiny. Many dismiss the fact that God even exists, they prefer to believe the false and unproven theory of evolution rather than have to face the truth. But deep inside everyone there is an empty space that only God can fill, that missing part of the life's jigsaw that we need to find to feel complete and at peace.
So what are the consequences of this rebellion/sin?
We are told clearly in Romans 6:23
v13: The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.
v14: Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
v15: If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
God does not want us to end up in the lake of fire, which is why He provided us with a way of salvation and what's more it is a FREE GIFT! But if we do not accept His gift, we have rejected our only chance of redemption with nobody to blame but ourselves. This is a critical matter for every person and the sooner it is resolved the better. It should not be put off till tomorrow because life is so fragile and we cannot be sure if tomorrow will come.
When we accept God's gift of salvation we become pure in His sight (like we have been born again) and enter into a new and intimate relationship with Him. We feel tremendous joy and relief as we realize our freedom. We receive the Holy Spirit who helps us in our day to day life and reveals more of what God wants us to be. And we want to share what He has done for us with everyone.

The way of salvation
God loves us so much that He made the way of salvation so simple that even the most uneducated could understand. But because Satan does not want to see anyone saved, he has done his best to complicate and confuse the issue through religion and false doctrine over the centuries.
God wants us to recognise that we are in a fallen and sinful state, confess this to Him in prayer with repentance, ask Him into our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord. If we do this sincerely and honestly scripture tells us that we become a new creature, we are born again in the sight of God and our sinful fallen state is washed away. Repentance means more than just saying sorry for past sins, it also means (with God's help and strength) turning our back on those old ways and following what Jesus taught as best we can.

A simple prayer of salvation
Lord Jesus I know that I am a sinner
and I know that You died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins.
I ask you Lord Jesus to come into my heart and my life
as Lord and Saviour.
Amen.
and I know that You died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins.
I ask you Lord Jesus to come into my heart and my life
as Lord and Saviour.
Amen.
Although this can be an emotional experience for some people as the burden is lifted from them, salvation is not based on feelings, it is based on a solid concrete promise from God which cannot be broken.
See what is said clearly in scripture
John 3:16 (NIV) - A very well known verse.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 10:9 (NIV) - A clear promise.
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Ephesians 2:8 (NIV) - Don't believe anyone who says you can be saved by works or paying money.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -
Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) - How can this be made more clear!?
v38: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, v39: neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
